Ron Kern has been active in marketing communications for over 35 years.

He began his career as a copywriter and worked for several years as writer, advertising director, buyer, and store manager.

In 1976 he founded J & R Kern with his partner (and wife) Judy Kern, an experienced art director. Through J & R Kern, Ron has been involved in the creation and development of communications for clients like Stanley Furniture, GTE, Flexsteel Industries, Belk’s department stores, Alpharma, Cellular One, The Coca-Cola Company, and others. But his real enjoyment has always come from working with small companies.

As a business owner himself, Ron is particularly aware of the challenges and opportunities faced by small firms.

Because of this, he began to develop marketing strategies and plans for companies who did not have a full marketing staff. Today, J & R Kern is completely dedicated to the success of small growing businesses.

Ron was the founding president of the Northeast Georgia Advertising Federation and recipient of the NGAF American Advertising Federation Silver Medal Award. He is a past president of Lanier Hall Rotary, and has been active in the Gainesville-Hall Chamber of Commerce.

When not immersed in marketing, Ron enjoys golf, cooking, home improvement projects and motor home travel.
